All round France we had a regular lump or knock which appeared to be offside. It only came at certain higher speeds and we maybe learnt to ignore it as the journey progressed. We did stop several times to see if we could work out where it came from.
Nealy home and we had a blowout. New tyre fitted and the knock had definitely gone!!
When we got home we had 4 more new tyres (not risking that again) put the en-route new one as a spare and had 4 matching ones on the road wheels. Happy days, although on examination the spare tyre, which we had only driven on between the breakdown and getting a replacement (maybe 10 miles), appeared to be the original spare from the Fiat van manufactured in December 1992. 26+ years old and hardly used, but not worth the risk!
