Taken the heater out and repaired it with new thermostat. At HymerChill, we had a spot of bother lighting the gas heater. The knob had to be held in a long time. We took expert advice aand were told to just hold the knob in for a long time. The thermocouple was aging and it may last another year and would need replacing. We also discovered that our Trauma was a ‘Nordic’ model designed to be left on whilst traveling. This mean 2 adaptations had been made – a 12v supply for the ignitor (not batteries) and a special thermocouple with a heat sensor for the heater shell. I couldnt find a replacement thermocouple, but took the whole thing out and aprt and gave it all a good clean. I put a straight-forward thermocouple in and Bob was my Uncle – all done.
