Following the sorting of the engine, its onwards and upwards with a list of projects to re-engage and revitalise Heidi.
First was new wing mirrors – ideally with arms but swapping everything means some work to be done. I’ve found some stainless ones but they wont be available till September, so I’m leaving them for now but new mirrors were ordered and fitted.
At the same time, I have resprayed the body on either side of the windscreen. These used to be adhesive plastic which was the same colour (goldy silver) as the stripes on the side of the van. I decided not to remove the plastic but used plastic undercoat then added the correct colour which is Mercedes Smoke Silver 702. There are some imperfections from damage to the plastic in the past but it’s somewhat of an improvement.
