Our first trip out for 2015. Silverdale, Gibraltar Farm campsite. This was the scene of our dramatic decision to sell Oakley in April last year and we went back with some trepidation. Would we decide something else dramatic? No – it all went very well. The forecast was for a couple of very windy nights and since there is little between Gibraltar Farm and Ireland it can be very windy there. We had had a night in Oakley when the wind got up and I’d swear it nearly blew over. We got up at 4 am and reversed about 50 yards down the field to a more sheltered spot. Less view but less wind too.
This trip we were on a hard standing in a sheltered spot from the start and the wind may have got up; the trees made a lot of noise on a couple of occasions, but we were relatively unscathed.
The weekend was mostly dull and grey and chilly. We had a couple of walks and a enjoyed ourselves. The trip home involved a detour to Fleetwood fora Sunday afternoon walk on the pebbly beach.
On our return we discovered another neighbour had had their van broken into – the second recently and we decided to upgrade some of Heidi’s security measures.
First stop is a better front door lock. Second was applying security film to the side glass windows.
