The pesky side flashes blew off! I have had trouble with side flashes from the start. The flashes on the caravan door were missing when we bought it. Eventually I spray painted some on. We had a wet and windy night and by chance I noticed that the middle flashes had blown loose. On closer inspection all of them were coming loose, so I glued them back on with some old, but unopened No Nails that I had.
On our windy trip to Northumberland, the bottom flash curled open and peeled itself backwards down the van. We taped it up, but noticed the no nails hadn’t set, so taped all of them. The unset No Nails also splashed elsewhere around the van and set like well like No Nails should. So gaffer taped flashes and no nails where it shouldn’t be.
On our return I removed all the flashes, straightened them as best I could removed as much No Nails as I could, although in some places I was removing paint so I stopped, and reattached with Sikaflex.
We also repainted the inside of the cab! There had been some damage following leaks around the drivers window which I fixed at Christmas. This was fully dried out so we painted the area with some matchpot paint from B&Q. We also painted the passenger side panel to match. Not a perfect job on the drivers side as the material we were painting onto was difficult, but it all looks loads better now. The paint matches the backs of the seat covers.
